Chinsurah, West Bengal, 22nd Feb : The IFA is firing on all cylinders to lend football in West Bengal the renewed push it needs, with the latest in a series of its efforts being the trials held here for a Goalkeepers’ Academy.

Bengal has always contributed top goalkeepers to Indian football, and these trials are another shot at keeping that shining legacy going.

About 150 young goalkeeping talents, many from remote areas of the state, are going through their paces at the academy.

Former star goalkeepers like Tanumoy Basu, Debashish Mukherjee, Sangram Mukherjee and Atanu Bhattacharya are frequenting these trials to inspire the trainees and help them break into the big league of Bengal football.
