BSS Sporting
Young Turk on the block! BSS Sporting is a shining example of how collective aspirations can be coalesced into a meaningful outcome. About twenty clubs and Puja Committees of Behala, situated in south of Kolkata, joined hands for a common cause and formed BSS Sporting. To a degree, the club brings back fond memories of another Behala footballing outfit – Behala Youth – which used to be a tough competitor in the Calcutta Football League in the ‘70s. BSS Sporting Club came into being in 2015, cobbled together by football enthusiasts of the region, and reflecting exemplary camaraderie. Former international footballer and veteran coach Arun Ghosh and his talented wards are ensuring that the club’s fascinating journey in the Premier Division continues.
